The Golden City: Prague
Where to Stay
Hilton Prague Old Town was in a clutch location in the middle of the city and right by everything! We were a minute or two from the Old Town Square, which was absolutely breathtaking around Christmas.
- Charles Bridge
- Lennon Wall-Right next to the Charles Bridge, so an easy walk
- Prague Castle-Beautiful views at the top overlooking the city
- Old Town Square – There was a Christmas Markets right in the center of the square and restaurants with outdoor seating on the outskirts. We had dinner looking out into the square and decided to get a flight. Their “flights” were entire beers (4) for $7. CHEAP.
- Lover’s Hill- Has an Eiffel Tower, but we went on Christmas Eve and the tower was closed It was also foggy, and after a long hike to the top we decided it was not worth it to see
Where to Eat
- U Krale Brabantskeho- We stumbled upon this accidentally, but I had researched Prague before the trip and this was a huge recommendation. This little medieval restaurant/pub was one of the coolest experiences of the trip. It was built in 1375 and one of the oldest in the city. We ordered a cheese platter, a sausage platter, and some beers. It was the perfect pit stop!!!!
We only spent 2 days in Prague, and we left on Christmas Day. Everything was open on Christmas Eve, which was really nice! We do wish we had spent more time in Prague!!!
Other sites we would have seen if we had the time:
- Dancing House
- Letna Park
- Beer Monastery
- Muzeum
- Lots of beer we didn’t get to try
Other recommendations:
*My co-worker gave me a map to use from a company called Use-It. Use-It provides easy to read maps of cities around Europe. The map includes top sites, beer, and places to eat!
*Billa (supermarket) was right across the street from our hotel, and it was a great place to get small snacks, wine/beer, etc.
